Virgil Van Dijk Impress Daniel Agger With His Game At Liverpool

Virgil van Dijk has been hailed as the big boss required to bring out the best of defense of Liverpool by Daniel Agger, the former Reds favorite.

The Dane is still 33 and he was a popular figure during 2006-14 at Anfield, it was his time and though injuries blighted his career, with his game he earned the reputation of being a classy ball-playing center-back.

Agger at the present time is in Marbella and enjoying the sunshine. But, he popped in on training camp of Liverpool to meet with old friends.

But new recruit of the Liverpool brought in for a club record £75 million, and this has caught his eye.

On this Agger said: “I have watched Virgil van Dijk play before as well and he is a very strong player. It is not easy taking the step from Southampton to Liverpool, it is impressive to see how he has started.

“He seems like he is going in and pretends like he is in charge. It is important to have a man like that as a team and as a defender. Although, it is early, but I can see and hope that he can bring out the best from those around him at the back.”

At the field’s other end, Agger, who utilized the opportunity to catch up with some old friends, also found the Reds tricky frontmen impressive and as a former defender, he admits that they would be strong to come up against.

He said: "I didn’t have to come up against them! I am lucky”.

“Every time we have got the ball going forward, it is dangerous. It is something so important for a team. This is because of no matter if you allow one or two, you are aware that you have the power to roll back into the game again.”
