KOGE: CAN AGGER SECURE PROMOTION

Daniel Agger was given the opportunity to manage a professional football team for the first team when he was named the manager of HB Koge in the Danish first division, the second tier of club football in Denmark. Daniel Agger became HB Koge manager in the summer and he has been able to lead the team to mid-table. To this effect, it is inevitable to ask if the former Liverpool defender can secure promotion to the Danish top flight at the end of the season.


HB Koge have only won three games from the twelve (12) matches under Daniel Agger and their winning ratio will have to improve a great deal if they want to move closer to the promotion spot. Liverpool fans paid tribute to Daniel Aggeron the anniversary of his first goal for the club many years ago. The Reds faithfuls took to their respective Twitter handle to celebrate Daniel Agger who scored his first goal for the Merseyside club in August 2006.


The Liverpool fans celebrated Agger via Twitter on the occasion of the 15th anniversary ofhis first goal for the club.Daniel Agger scored his first goal for Liverpool months after he signed for the club. The Reds signed Agger from Brondbyin his native Denmark during the winter transfer window in January. AGGER: BRONDBY CAREER EXAMINED

Danish international Daniel Agger established himself quickly in the Brondby first team after he was promoted from the youth squad to the first team as a replacement for Swedish international Andreas Jakobsson in July 2004. Agger played a key role as Brondby won the league title in the Danish top flight in his first season with the first team.

Daniel Agger was named the2004 ‘talent of the year’ after some months in the first team.An injury picked up at the start of the 2005/06 campaign ruled him out for the rest of the season. Agger sustained the injury in September 2005 and he didn’t play again for Brondby till that season ended in the summer of 2006. He was named the ‘talent of the year’ for all sports on December 6, 2005.

Agger was linked with a move to the Premier League for a long time before the transfer finally happened in January 2006. He moved to then European champions Liverpool in a £6m deal. The Danish defender signed a four-and-a-half year deal at Liverpool. His transfer fee made him themost expensive signing from a club in Denmark to a foreign club. His Liverpool transfer was confirmed on January 12 on the back of him missing out on the winter training camp at Brondby.

Merseyside giants Liverpool confirmed that Daniel Agger has left to join former team Brondby in what would be his second spell at the club. His return to Denmark was revealed on August 30, 2014. Agger took a pay cut significantly to re-sign for Brondby in a £3m deal. He signed a two-year deal upon his return to Brondby. A lot of teams from other European countries wanted to sign Agger but he opted to return home. He announced his retirement from football in 2016 shortly after the end of his Brondby contract.

AGGER: NATIONAL TEAM CAREER UNVEILED

Daniel Agger had a good record in front of goal while he was with the Denmark national team for a period of eleven years. The ex-Liverpool and Brondby central defender scored 11 goals in 75 matches for Denmark before he retired in 2016.

Agger played his first game for the Denmark team in June 2005 during a friendly game with Finland in Tampere. He played the entire duration of the game in a 1-0 win. His first goal for the team arrived some months later against Malta in a World Cup qualifier ahead of the tournament in Germany. He was on target in the 6-1 win over Malta but the result eventually counted for nothing after Denmark failed to qualify for the World Cup tournament on German soil.

The ex-Liverpool defender scored once in eight games for Denmark in the qualifiers ahead of the 2010 FIFA World Cup tournament on South African soil. His goal came in the 3-0 win over Malta at home. At the tournament in South Africa, he scored an own goal in a 2-0 defeat at the hands of the Netherlands in the opening group game for Denmark. Agger and his Danish teammates failed to progress beyond the group stage in South Africa.

He led Denmark out for the first time in a friendly against Germany in August 2010 which ended in a 2-2 draw. Daniel Agger was given the armband permanently one year later. While he was the skipper, Denmark qualified for the 2012 European Championship in Poland and Ukraine.Agger was a regular as Denmark crashed out of the Euro 2012 tournament at the group stage.

Malta were the favourite opponents for Daniel Agger as he scored a brace in a 6-0 victory in what was a 2014 FIFA World Cup qualifier. He retired from international football in 2016.

AGGER: EXTRAORDINARY LIFE AFTER FOOTBALLUNVEILED

Retired Danish player Daniel Agger has lived an extraordinary life outside football since he called it quit as a professional footballer five years ago. Agger stunned a lot of football fans when he made the decision to retire in 2016. His final club turned out to be his boyhood club Brondby in his native Denmark. Daniel Agger started and ended his career at the Danish top division team.

Agger was a Liverpool player between 2006 and 2014 having joined the Reds from Brondby. During his time on Merseyside, the Danish international made almost 250 appearances for the club and was part of the squad that won the Community Shield and the League Cup. He retired from football at the age of 31 after spending two years at Brondby since he returned to Denmark from England.

Since his retirement from football, Daniel Agger has concentrated on his numerous businesses. The focus of the ex-Reds centre back has been on his tattoo and sewage businesses since his retirement from football in 2016.

Agger has not hidden his love for tattoos. The ex-Danish national team footballer was heavily tattooed when he joined the club as a 21-year-old. It’s not surprising that he has a functioning tattoo business.

His love for tattoos prompted him to invest in Tattoodo, a company that has a lot of following on social media. In addition, Daniel Agger is a tattoo artist. As a matter of fact, he has Liverpool’s You Never Walk Alone tattooed on his knuckles.

Agger left Denmark for Marbella after his retirement. At Marbella, he established a sewage company known as KloAgger. The sewage business has been very productive for Agger. Recent reports claimed that the company makes more than £1m on a yearly basis.

He also has a charity known as The Agger Foundation. His charity organisation holds events on a regular basis and public figures like former Liverpool teammate Steven Gerrard and others have graced the events.

Daniel Agger is on course to return to football in the coming weeks as a coach of Danish second division team HB Koge.

FIVE FORMER LIVERPOOL STARS WHO BECAME MANAGERS

There is now a growing trend of immediate past players being selected to anchor the role of management in football clubs in the modern era. In the past, clubs would prefer to go for managers who are already experienced and have been in the game for some time.

However, with recent managerial appointments of the likes of Ole Gunnar Solskjær at Manchester United, Frank Lampard at Chelsea, Steven Gerrard at Rangers, Andrea Pirlo at Juventus, Gennaro Gattuso at AC Milan, and so on, it looks as though clubs want to now place trust in fresh candidates and allow them to show what they’re truly capable of.

Former Liverpool player Daniel Agger has now joined that list after he was confirmed to have been appointed as the new head coach at Danish second-tier club HB Koge. The former Denmark defender could not hide his delight at being named the new head coach of the club, and he is said to be partnered by his former international teammate Jacobsen who will work as his assistant head coach.

Henchoz played for Liverpool for six years and finally left the club after playing his 135th game in 2005. In his career, he played for the likes of Blackburn, Celtic, and Wigan. He was appointed manager of Blackburn to coach the Under-18 team but only lasted for one term. He also coached FC Sion in 2019 but lasted for just 4 months.
Steven Gerrard

Gerrard’s managerial career is already termed a success after guiding Rangers to their first league title in over a decade after being appointed as manager.
Other former players who became managers are Abel Xavier, who coached low-league Portuguese clubs Farense, Olhanense, and Desportivo Aves. Then Phil Babb, who managed Hayes and Yeading, a Conference South outfit which he managed between 2013 and 2015 before leaving the club.

And then fresh on the list is Daniel Agger who was appointed in late March as the new head coach of HB Koge.

HOW AGGER MADE LIVERPOOL MARK REVEALED

Daniel Agger is not a name that the Liverpool fans will forget in a hurry following his meritorious service to the Liverpool cause while the Danish international player was at the club. Daniel Agger became a Liverpool player in January 2006 and he went on to win some trophies at the club before he departed in the summer of 2014. Daniel Agger made 232 appearances for Liverpool in all competitions during his stay at the club. In the Premier League alone, Daniel Agger made 175 appearances for the Reds. The centre back left Liverpool to return to his native Denmark due to family reasons in August 2014. He left the Reds to return back to Brondby in the top flight of club football in his country, Denmark. Daniel Agger didn’t have the chance to make his mark at Liverpool in his opening weeks at the club due to several injuries. The injuries limited him to just four appearances for the first team. Daniel Agger didn’t play much part in the 2006 FA Cup triumph for Liverpool under manager Rafael Benitez. The Reds came from behind to draw 3-3 with West Ham United having trailed by two goals at one point. Liverpool equalised late in the game to deny West Ham United boss Alan Pardew and his players cup success. Liverpool won the FA Cup final to win the competition that year. The Reds beat West Ham on penalties to achieved this feat.

Agger had overcomedhis injuries at the start of the 2006/07 season. He was mainly in competition with the experienced duo of Jamie Carragher and Sami Hyypia in the early stage of his Liverpool career before the arrival of Martin Skrtel. Daniel Agger and Martin Skrtel would go on to form one of the most potent centre back partnership in recent Liverpool history. Daniel Agger won the Community Shield with the Reds in 2006 at the expense of Chelsea and also helped Liverpool to win the 2011/12 League Cup under the guidance of club legend Kenny Dalglish ‘King Kenny’. Daniel Agger was at the 2010 FIFA World Cup tournament in South Africa with Denmark and he also represented his country at the 2012 European Championships. Agger captained Denmark at that European Championship.

FANS RUE EXIT SEVEN YEARS LATER

Some Liverpool fans have still not recovered from the abrupt exit of Daniel Agger from the club many years ago. Daniel Agger left Liverpool after eight years to return to boyhood club Brondby seven years ago. Liverpool fans expressed their love and admiration for Daniel Agger last month, when he was celebrated by the official Twitter handle of Liverpool.


Daniel Agger became a Liverpool player in January 2006 and the Reds’ Twitter handle celebrated the 15th year anniversary of his arrival. Several Liverpool fans reacted to the anniversary tweet from the club as ex-manager Brendan Rodgers was not spared for his part in the sale of the former Danish international defender. AGGER RECALLS WHEN HE ASKED TO BE SOLD TO BARCELONA

Former Liverpool defender has recently opened up on when he asked former manager Brendan Rodgers to be sold to Barcelona in 2014. The ex-defender said he was seriously pleading with Brendan Rodgers to allow him to leave Liverpool then in favor of a move to the Camp Nou in the 2014 summer transfer window after he was fed up with life at Anfield.


The former Denmark international defender was reportedly in tears and tendered in a transfer request after he heard of Barcelona’s interest in signing him. HOW AGGER BECAME A LIVERPOOL HERO

Liverpool signed Daniel Agger from Brondbyat the start of 2006 for a £6m fee and only few would have predicted that the ex-Danish international would endear himself to supporters on and off the pitch. The Reds made him the most expensive defender in their history with the transfer from Denmark. He had spent two years in the first team at Brondby. He became an instant hit at Liverpool as he justified every penny spent on his transfer. Spanish tactician Rafael Benitez was the Reds manager that masterminded his move to the Premier League.


On what made him an instant hit on and off the pitch at Liverpool, Daniel Agger revealed in one of his interviews via planet football that he felt he belonged at a big club like Liverpool.
