AGGER WILL FIGHT

Daniel Agger has said that he is determined to get his spot back in the starting XI of Liverpool.

Agger has recently recovered from his rib injury that had kept him out of action last month, but, after his return to action, he is not getting starting opportunities. He warmed the bench in Liverpool’s last couple of league games.

However, Agger put up a great show playing for his country Denmark yesterday in a World Cup qualifying game against Malta. He found the back of the net a couple of times and helped his team thrash the opposition by 6-0.

Agger is rated very highly by the clubs all around the world. During the pre-season transfer window, Barcelona which is one of the best clubs in the world had made a bid for him, but, Liverpool had rejected that bid.

When asked about that Barcelona bid, Agger said, “It was the decision of the club not to let me go.”

“I don’t have any problem at Liverpool. I am happy and I want to keep playing till the end of my contract.”

A couple of new players that have come to Liverpool this summer have put up impressive performances and have made it difficult for Agger to find a place in the starting XI. Those two guys are Mamadou Sakho and Kolo Toure. They are playing regularly and are doing well.

When asked about that, Agger said, “It’s good that the new signings are doing well. They have raised the bar and that’s fantastic for the club.”

“I have always wanted Liverpool to be a strong side. I want to win titles here.”
Agger had arrived at Anfield 7 years ago in 2006. He has so far featured for the Reds in more than 200 games.
