AGGER REJOINS FORMER LIVERPOOL TEAMMATES

Daniel Agger has hailed Liverpool’s defensive lead Virgil van Dijk who recently joined the Reds for £75 million. The 33-year old Dane was very popular in the heart of the defence for Liverpool when he played from 2006-2014.

Agger’s career was blighted by recurrent injuries especially in the latter days but he remained a fan favourite even after leaving Anfield. The veteran surprised at Liverpool’s training camp, turning up to have a nice time with his former teammates.

The retired star, who now spends time in Marbella, said Van Dijk caught his eye. He described the former Southampton man to Livescore Liverpool as “a really strong player.” He is impressed by how the defender has performed so far despite the difficult move to Liverpool.

Agger wishes that Van Dijk brings out the best out of those he plays with. For now he remains happy with the performances of the Dutchman.

The august visitor also commented on the quality of attackers at the club. He said if he were an active defender it would be difficult facing the current top notch attackers. He praised the trio of Mohammed Salah, Roberto Firmino and Sadio Mane. He adds that every time Liverpool have the ball and are moving forward, it is dangerous. He says this is important for any team as it helps them back into a game even if they have conceded.

Agger was happy to meet briefly with the players even though he has not really played with most of the players. He was pictured with Red skipper Jordan Henderson at Marbella Football Center, Spain.

The Liverpool fan as he called himself said he was impressed with the performance against Porto in the Champions League, adding that everyone in football knows what the Reds can do now.
