25-YEAR-OLD MIDFIELDER REJECTS MAN UNITED AND LIVERPOOL, PREFERS BARCA

Barcelona covered several gaping cracks in their team this summer, reinforcing midfield, central defence, wing, and central attack with seven signings. These were headlined by Robert Lewandowski, Raphinha, and Jules Kounde, among others. They could not, however, bring in a replacement or alternative for Sergio Busquets. The Barcelona captain still stands as the only natural defensive midfielder in the team, irreplaceable by any of his peers.

The Spaniard is set to depart the team after his contract expires in the summer of 2023, and finding his replacement will be the club’s top priority. Ruben Neves has been identified as the ideal player for that, by the club, and he is determined to join Barcelona, according to a report by Sport. So much so that he had received offers from Manchester United and Liverpool during the transfer window, but turned them down after hearing about Barcelona’s interest. He was close to leaving Wolverhampton Wanderers but is now willing to wait until 2023 for Barça. Continue reading 25-YEAR-OLD MIDFIELDER REJECTS MAN UNITED AND LIVERPOOL, PREFERS BARCA

LIVERPOOL LEGEND ADVISES REDS TO SIGN THIS STAR AMID INJURY CRISES

According to Spanish outlet Futbol Total, Frenkie de Jong is the subject of interest from Liverpool over a possible move in the ongoing transfer window. The Reds have lodged a bid worth £60 million, including add-ons, to sign the Dutch midfielder from Barcelona this summer. The speculation surrounding Frenkie de Jong’s long-term future shows no signs of going away yet.

The Barcelona midfielder might not be joining Manchester United anytime soon, but several clubs in the UEFA Champions League have started showing interest in him, the latest being Liverpool.
As for de Jong and his situation at Camp Nou, he seems to have a role wherein he will share game-time in the ongoing season with Gavi and Pedri instead of being an undisputed first-choice midfielder for Barcelona. Such a situation has captured the attention of several European bigwigs, including Bayern Munich and Chelsea, with Liverpool now trying to secure his services. AGGER URGES BEN DAVIES TO SEAL MOVE AWAY AMID SEVERAL INTEREST

According to Sky Sports, Liverpool outcast Ben Davies is attracting attention from Championship duo Blackburn Rovers and Stoke City ahead of the 2022/23 season. The Englishman was a surprise January signing for the Reds amid the injury-stricken 2020/21 season. The loss of their recognised centre-back trio of Virgil van Dijk, Joel Matip and Joe Gomez left Jurgen Klopp in a pickle at the turn of 2021.

This forced Liverpool to dip into the January transfer market to sign Ozan Kabak (on loan) and Ben Davies to mitigate their losses. While the former did make first-team appearances, the latter is yet to play a single minute for Jurgen Klopp’s senior side. The arrival of Ibrahima Konate last summer, coupled with the other options already back available, meant Klopp more or less had his four centre-back options set in stone for the 2021/22 season and beyond. This leaves Davies in a precarious position, as first-team minutes are nowhere on the horizon. Continue reading AGGER URGES BEN DAVIES TO SEAL MOVE AWAY AMID SEVERAL INTEREST

According to Daniel Agger, he asked Rodgers if he wanted him to stay at Liverpool amidst the interest from Spanish La Liga giants Barcelona.
